The skilled guides of our school had an exciting and adventurous experience during their annual Trekking trip to Yercaud. From Bungee jumping from the sky, gliding through the cool wind in a zip-line, cycling in mid-air to walking on wobbly pieces of wood on a rope course and much more. They did it all with ease in an adventure park. A short trek to the Elephant Mountain added to their thrilling day. The trip was also a learning experience based on team work, endurance and independence.

The Sacred Heart Guide Company provides a non-formal education programme that is dynamic and flexible while offering value based training in life skills, decision making and leadership.

All the activities the girls do, from weekly meetings, to camps, to expeditions and hikes are driven by the girls themselves with input and assistance from their leaders and are planned to match the abilities of the girls.

The process used in our Guide programmme is Discover, Decide, Plan, Do and Check.

Our company’s mission is to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, respectable and responsible community members.

This character formation and health developing movement is a part of our school activity and has been increasing in strength every year.

The Sacred Heart Guide Company’s first Guide meeting was held on 18th July, 2016 with more than 140 Guides and 6 Guiders.

On 17th of October the Pravesh test for 76 new recruits was conducted and they successfully completed the test . The day of enrolment as Guides is a day to be treasured in their lives.

Eighteen Guides successfully completed the Rajyapuraskar Testing Camp in Wenlock Park from Nov 10th to Nov 12th 2016 and are about to receive the prestigious Governor signed Certificate from The Governor of Tamilnadu.

We enjoyed the trekking camp up the Yelagiri hills in Don Bosco Campsite from 10th of Feb,2017 to 12th of Feb, 2017 with 50 active Guides and 4 Guide Captains.

Regular classes were held every Monday from 2.15 to 3.30 p.m. The guides learnt the History of Guiding, Law, Promise, Motto etc., They also enjoyed interesting games, yells and claps. Many values were instilled in guides to build up their personality.

Competitions like Quiz, Cooking without fire, Drawing, handicraft, Talentora etc., were conducted. On March 6th , 2017 we had our Valedictory function in which winners of the year 2016-17 were honoured with prizes.

We thank our Principal Sr.Prabha for the interest taken in our Guide Company and the strength given to us to carryout our activities successfully.

We also thank the Almighty for the great Guidance and Blessings showered on us throughout the year.
